Maid2Match House Cleaning | Bathroom Cleaning Tips

The Bathroom is the most frequently used room in a house and it’s tough to stay ahead on keeping it clean and sanitary. Here are a few tricks from Maid2Match to keep it fresh and clean.

Stop Moisture

Keep showers dry to stave off mildew and mold by hanging a squeegee in the shower head for family to use after they bathe. Also while showering; quickly zap moisture by opening the window or turning on the exhaust fan.  Then remember to pull the shower curtain so it stretches across the whole tub afterwards.

Use Water Repellent

Try using a water repellent like RainX on shower doors and walls to stop soap scum, water and minerals from getting the upper hand.

For a nontoxic way to disinfect the surfaces, fill a spray bottle with a half and half solution of white vine agar and water.   Vinegar has the ability to remove many stains and odors.

Clean the Sink

Baking Soda can remove stains, soap scum, toothpaste and sticky hair!  Rinse the sink, then pour enough baking soda in the sink to make a thick paste.  Next using a soft cloth or sponge scrub a little to clean the sink.  Afterwards, run the water for a shiny sink.  This is safe for steel and porcelain sinks.

Clean the Toilet

Use a cup of vinegar in the toilet bowl and let it sit in the bowl for a few hours to remove stains and leave it germ free.

Clean the Drains

Take a half cup of baking soda and put it down and around your drains, then add one cup of full strength vinegar to keep your drains cleans.  Just like those volcanos from your science projects, it will fizzle up and clean out the drain.  Afterwards just turn on the hot water and it is done, saving you time and money on plumbing repairs for clogged drains!

Clean the Tub

Spray all-purpose bathroom cleaner on the tub area and allow it to stand for sometimes. This standing will help dissolve oils and soap scum easily for an effortless cleaning.

Clean the Showerhead

For a simple remedy when your showerhead is not dispensing the water like it should, just fill a plastic bag with full strength vinegar.  Make sure that there is enough to cover the whole bottom of the showerhead, then secure it with a twist tie and leave it on overnight.  Voila, in the morning your showerhead will be working again.

Get Towel Bars

Make sure you provide ample towel bars or hooks to ensure no one drop towels in the floor. It will also help in fast drying and keep your bathroom tidy.

Clean the Floors

Make a mixture of ¼ c vinegar, 1 T dish soap, and 1 litre of water, put it in a bottle and use it to clean the floors.  This is a safe nontoxic way to keep them clean if you have tiled floors, if they are not tiled, just sweep them regularly, then use the cleanser recommended for that type of flooring.
